Absolutely poor service. I ordered a book in June amd it is now the end of September and it has still not arrived. I have repeatedly asked for a refund or another copy of the book, all to no avail. Blaming covid is ridiculous! I seriously wonder of this company is fraudulent. Book depository is wonderful in comparison and I will never buy off these guys again.

Delivery is just so slow, I have ordered previously from here and on that occasion I left a 5 star review, they had a limited signed edition of my favourite book and it was a great price, arrived very quickly, so after receiving national book tokens for my birthday and this being one of the very few retailers you can use the vouchers online with, I have placed a couple of orders. The first order for one book was placed and I received a dispatch email a couple of days later, it took almost 2 weeks for it to arrive, I didn't mind as I thought it might be a one off and alot of companies are experiencing delays, I then placed an order for another 3 books, all showing as in stock , a couple of days later I received a dispatch email for 2 of the 3 books, that was over a week ago, my 3rd book is still showing as processing. My biggest frustration is there is no way to track your order properly through their website, there is no link to see the delivery journey or to see where your item is stuck, I understand with the current situation deliveries are taking slightly longer but I don't understand how if the item is dispatched why it takes so long to arrive, I have frequently ordered books from other retailers including waterstones and have received my ordered within a few days and have been able to track the order from the moment It is marked as dispatched , there is no update on my 3rd item or reason for delay and it is still showing as in stock on the website. It really is a shame because I find them very competitive with prices and being able to use national book tokens online is a real plus but once retailers open stores I don't think I would order from here again.

Horrible online service Blackwells

I place my order online 3 months ago and yet to receive my order.
I messaged Blalkwells 4 times and they just merely asked me to reconfirm my address repeatedly.
Horrible service! Miss Book depository.

Avoid shipping through blackwells

Blackwells is a highly dishonest and misleading company who provide the impression they ship overseas. Their ordering procedure suggests that their delivery fee covers shipping overseas but they ship through DHL with no paperwork where you get slapped with an exorbitant customs fee (the fine print says they don’t actually know how to ship). Don’t order anything from this highly dishonest and misleading company!!!

Scam company - avoid

Scam. Ordered a book. Received an email to say it was dispatched. Weeks later, not received a thing. Been in touch 3-4 times and not had a single response. I will have to take this up with my bank.

I was sceptical about ordering after…No problems at all!

I was sceptical about ordering after all the bad reviews. However I decided to see for myself. Always the best philosophy in life. Glad I did. I received an email the day after I placed my order, confirming they had processed my book and I received it 4 days later. Free postage too. So I'm happy and would recommend. I've never written on trustpilot before and presume most people don't. unless they get a bad experience. So the ratings aren't a fair representation. Thought I'd write this to show the flip side.

I purchased 5 books and having read the trust pilot reviews was immediately filled with dread about how well they’d handle the order I’ve had 0 issues. All books despatched and arrived in 10 days. The only let down is the terrible track your order system that, even when ordering books as a logged in user, doesn’t recognise the order reference. Aside from that - excellent

Utterly useless

Utterly useless. They won't exist in a few years time with such appalling customer service. No answer to emails, no telephone numbers, no online support and they couldn't care less. The boss of this company should hang their head in shame at the appalling shambles they oversee. Just read the reviews here. No one has anything good to say about them. Don't use them, or you'll be sorry..

Appalling Service

I've previously bought from Blackwells and not had any major problems but I feel badly let down by the service I've received with my recent order and shall probably not order from them again.I bought a book which cost quite a bit of money, it took a week to despatch it, nearly as long to arrive and when I opened the package up the book was badly damaged with a very noticeable crease on the front cover. I'm trying to arrange a return for a replacement or a refund but the customer service is shocking. I've been waiting 48 hours for a response to a return request. Nobody should have to wait this long to organise a return when the customer is not at fault. And to make matters worse, this was securely packaged so it can't have been damaged in delivery and must have been sent out like this, so they obviously don't take any care about what they send out.I know we are in the midst of a pandemic but, even so, it shouldn't take as long as this to arrange a return. If they can't cope and run things properly, then they shouldn't be trading. You can't take people's money, supply them with damaged merchandise and not allow them to arrange a return within an adequate timeframe.So, my recommendation is, if you can, go elsewhere. You'll be tearing your hair out with frustration if something goes wrong and your book arrives not as you expect it to.

Great International Shipping Experience

I was really apprehensive about ordering from Blackwells after looking at the reviews, but everything turned out great! I ordered an Anthology at it came just a day after the stipulated time put on their website for international shipping. Although it took them longer to reply my email than it did for my book to arrive, I was very pleased that my order arrived on time and in great shape! Price wise, it was the cheapest option available (in Singapore), but if you need a book urgently then maybe this isn't the best option. They take a long time to reply emails, but just be patient and your book should arrive. I think the reviews are really bad because people who have gotten their orders on time rarely make an effort to give a review.

Their international shipping is atrocious…. They ship through DHL who then fleece you with massive customs fees (rather than charging the proper tax upfront)… would highly suggest no one ship through them!

Slow delivery but otherwise ok
